In 2019, we changed our company name to Studio T Arts & Entertainment to represent all of our brands. The results of this recipe have been proven time and time again as our young protégé's take on the world through the arts and their pursuit of higher education. Her intense passion about giving youth hope permeates the environments where she has a presence resulting in youth and their families developing and growing in confidence, community leadership, and desire to thrive outside what they see on their 'blocks'. Through our founder and creative director, Tamaira Sandifer's work with the juvenile Youth Detention Facility, we were honored with the 'Volunteer of the year' in 2015. Our troupes have won international and regional Hip Hop dance titles as well as voted "Best of Sacramento". You've seen their faces and the move in movies, music videos, commercials, and on television. Studio T's graduates currently travel the world working with artists like: Justin Beiber, JLO, Jabbawokeez, Usher, Brittany Spears, Usher, Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Ellen, Beyonce and many others.
Studio T Urban Dance Academy began to churn out Hollywood's most sought after young professional talent including the 2016 winner of 'So You Think You Can Dance'. In 2007, not only did the kids want to be at school, they began to thrive at school, after school, and beyond. Once we gained measurable results, we expanded to neighboring regions focusing on schools and communities that are experiencing severe need. Through the arts, and partnerships with school districts and local after school programs, we purposed to meet these needs and improve the lives of every resident within that region. In meeting the needs of the community based on meeting the needs of its children, began our reach within one specific demographic region, South Sacramento/Oak Park. Our mission very quickly became more than just dance and Studio T Urban Dance Academy evolved into a social services through the arts program. Through developing the resources families said they needed and working them with the same families for 5 years, we discovered many of these issues ARE preventable.
These issues made it clear to us that these are severe lenders to the adverse academic, fiscal, and personal health conditions plaguing the lower income communities in our city.
She closed her building and mobilized Studio T Urban Dance Academy programs and began taking up residency in schools, communities centers, churches, parks, affordable housing communities and by doing citywide family friendly events.Īs a result of taking up residency in our communities, consistent patterns in academic growth blocks, limited access to quality resources for daily self care, and a lack of safe and positive youth enrichment began to reveal themselves.
